Old Man

Look at this little munchkin! He is an old man now, all grown up at the ripe age of 24. How did I ever get so lucky?

You are the light of my life, my MEGA BEST FRIEND, and the sweetest roommate

I mean, COME ON!! Who wouldn't love that face?!

Happy Birthday Joey Bear!

Thank You, Gracias, Danka, Spaceeba

Geek T: Choies
Grey T: Old Navy (similar)
Jeans: Gap (similar)
Necklace: Choies
Hat: H&M men's

When I started this little space I never thought I would make such incredible friendships.  It's rather silly, but whenever I think about quitting & giving up, all I have to do is think about all the amazing people who have influence my life along this journey.

So I wanted to say thank you!! And after a huge interest regarding my new employment hook ups
(aka designer eye wear)
I wanted to pay it forward to you all.

So today I am giving away not 1....not 2.....but 3 pairs of sunglasses.
2 pairs that I got from the above "hookup" and another graciously sponsored by Firmoo.

*left* Ralph Lauren Tortoise Cat Eye        *right* DKNY gold aviators

Firmoo has an incredible selection of affordable eye wear and I've never been dissatisfied with the product I receive from them.  The variety you'll find there will fit every personality and style!

So here are the rules! Enter below and leave a comment with which one you'd like to win.  I will draw the winners from the 3 groups so that someone doesn't win something they didn't even want in the first place.
The giveaway will last for 10 days and you can enter multiple times a day!

At the Pony Races

Once upon a time, we decided to get all dandied up, with our fancy hats, and sassy pants, and head on down to the Kentucky Derby.

I was so proud of my hat/dress making skills! This was the first dress I'd ever made on my own (my pro mother usually steps in to save me from disaster) and it didn't turn out half bad.

Joe on the other hand just happened to have most of his outfit already.
He is a true Kentucky southerner at heart!

It rained without hesitation the entire day, so this is what we really looked like.
Ponchos and garbage sacks are the fashion statement of the season, FYI.
I wouldn't want y'all to be out of the loop here....

That beautiful poncho did manage to finally get me quite the attention.  As we were running out of the rain some kind sir took a photo of me and it has been circulating through quite the array of publication ever since.

I finally have a  "Claim to Fame" to share with others.
I can proudly say that my picture & name has been published in the:

and here's the kicker..

Freaking ESPN!!!

I'm officially at "Cool Wife" status for that last one.  Now granted, this picture doesn't even show my whole face so....not that famous.

Sitting on Millionaire Row and looking down upon the Poor People Zoo...

The most exciting 2 minutes in sports!

And after it all we could only say, "Self. Good day!"
Now I just have to find a place/way to store my hat?
Suggestions???

Dolla-Dolla Bill

 Top: Old Navy
Skirt: Gap
Coat: Nysense Dress Code
Heels: Gap
Necklace: Banana Republic
Outfit Total: $32
(granted the coat was technically my birthday gift)

Notice how everything here is basically from the same place.  The Gap Outlet strikes again!

And the steal of the day was clearly the skirt.  A grand whole $2.
You read right ladies and gentlemen. Two dollars. Big spender right here.

I have still yet to find anything wrong with it.  It was a size to big, so here is my easy fit in taking what used to fit loosely on my hips to a high-waist & tailored skirt.

1. Turn the skirt inside out and put it on.
2. Shimmy it up to where you want it to fit and pinch in the waistband.
3. Take the pinched section and fold it over, then pin down (see below).

4. Do a straight stitch over the fold on both sides of the waistband (the inside-out side & the right-side out)

Ta-da! That was seriously the easiest thing ever and even those doubtful of their inner craftiness can master with cave man technique!

I am liking up with Sharon & Tara with the Look What I Got

Go visit and make some new friends!

Number 42

Confession time.

I know nothing about sports. I am not athletic.  I  have ZERO hand-eye coordination.
But do you want to know who does? That hot husband of mine.  So for his sake I try.

Which is why we ended up at the Red’s game for Jackie Robinson Day.

I now understand why it is America's favorite past time, and all I could think about was The Sandlot the whole entire time.  That movie covers the extent of my baseball knowledge, but it was a blast!

People here in Cincy sure do love their baseball.
Fact.  They believe that opening day should be a area wide holiday.  They already shut down downtown for a parade so I don't think making it a real holiday would be taking it too much farther....

Happy Monday! Stay positive & focus on today :)

A Beautiful Day

T
T: H&M
Skirt: DIY (I made up the pattern with my pro-fesh mum, but you can Google/Pinterest any tutorial)
Glasses: Ray Ban (thrifted with work perks!)
Total: $30

Today is a beautiful day to do nothing.
Yep, absolutely nothing.

My work is having a party all day, but since I am only a temp I was not invited.
Rude! ....but awesome....because of the "nothing" factor.

But regardless of my want to do nothing, I will probably be elbow deep in toilet water, dishes, and sewing projects for the derby. Ugh, wife problems.

And a BIG CONGRATS to all my friends graduating! Trust me, it's the best :)

Somewhere Out There

Pictures taken at the Cincinnati Museum of Art

Someday I'll sleep in a real bed...
Today I'll be grateful for my air mattress.

Someday we'll have stability.....
Today I'll live in the moment.

Someday my inspiration will come back....
Today I'll keep searching!

Someday my demons will leave me....
Today I'll fight.

Someday is not as far away as we often think, but Today is here, right now, to be lived.
